Bernard J. Kito, or B.J. as his friends and family refer to him, grew up in Port Jefferson, New York, actively involved in his family’s landscape, design and construction business. He graduated from Boston University’s School of Management in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Organizational Behavior. From Boston, he returned to Long Island and worked at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, New York. This experience led him to pursue a legal education at Quinnipiac University School of Law.
At Quinnipiac, he served as the President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society and helped to organize a charity basketball tournament to raise money for the United Way. Additionally, he sat as a Senator to the Student Bar Association and participated as a witness for the school’s Mock Trial competition. Bernard pursued his interests in sports, entertainment, and technology during the Corporate Internship position he held at World Wrestling Entertainment.
Bernard graduated from Quinnipiac School of Law in 2008 and thereafter was admitted to practice in both Connecticut and New York. He is a member of the American, Connecticut, New York, New Haven County, and Suffolk County Bar Associations.
Bernard has a genuine interest in sports, entertainment, technology and the internet and how the law intertwines with each of these areas. He personally strives to be at the forefront of these subjects, but does not limit himself particularly to these topics; he also focuses on business and business transactions in general, estate planning, and real estate transactions.
Having at one time or another competed in hockey, basketball, golf and football, Bernard continues to participate in sports whenever possible and feels that golf, in particular, is a great metaphor for how one should conduct themselves professionally. Like golf, life and work is constant competition, however never should one lose sight of their dignity or professionalism. Nor should one compromise their values for competitive sake.
A true believer in a balanced lifestyle, Bernard volunteers his time whenever possible and tries to make time for exercise and fitness training as well as socializing at various young professional, legal networking, and fundraising events throughout Connecticut and New York.
